Busy Summer!

It has been a long time since I updated the blog,! I don't know where time goes in the summer, but it sure goes fast! So, Joe and I are spending our summer doing a lot of work preparing for the baby. Okay, it has mostly been Joe doing the manual labor, but I have been very supportive! First and foremost was our pool. The liner had several rips and had to be replaced. Needless to say, that is not a job Joe can do, so after weeks of waiting on our "pool guy" to finish, we finally have a pool to relax in. It has been a life saver to me, as the heat combined with my ever growing belly have created some very uncomfortable days! Luckily, baby Nugget loves the pool too. She kicks all the time when I am floating. Here are some pics of the pool before and after the new liner.

We have also started prepping Little Miss Nugget's room. It is a hot mess right now, but it will be fit for a princess soon enough! Her crib and mattress are in the spare bedroom, waiting to be assembled, but the ceiling is scraped, the old carpet is out, and we are ready to start on the fun redecorating now.

The floor is purchased, we are just waiting to paint first. I know it was already purple, which is girlie, but I had to go with the color Pottery Barn used with the bedding, so it will soon be changed.

Baby girl's closet. I don't know how we will ever fit all the clothes we have been given into this closet! See below to find out what happens when you are the only one around having a girl. The gifts keep coming!

These are the clothes given to me by the family I babysit for (who are getting ready for a baby boy), and a friend of their's! This does not include the tub of clothes I already had from gifts from my sisters, mom, and mother in law! She is going to be one fashionable little Nugget!

Our little lady is growing at an incredible rate, and you can really tell by looking at her momma! She is up to twelve inches, and somewhere around 2 pounds right now. Here I am at 25 and a half weeks. I am definately getting bigger by the day, but I LOVE my baby bump! (We'll see how I feel about it in another couple of months!)

Weatherly tradition continues

So, I know that most of you already knows this, but, Joe and I are having a baby girl. I wish I could have announced it earlier via the blog, but my internet was not cooperating. Anyway, she is now 10 ounces and around six inches. Joe is convinced the Dr. said 10 inches, but that would mean our little Nugget is on track to be like 6 feet tall, and somehow I am doubtful. We got to see her moving around like crazy, and mom and dad were there, so they got their first up close meeting with grandbaby number 2, which was great!
Mom brought me some maternity clothes from Al, which is going to be really nice this summer. Our baby girl also got her first pink things from the mom of one of my students. I always had a bit of an aversion to pink, but all the baby items she got us have convinced me that pink can be very cute! My mom and dad already ordered her crib and mattress, so Joe and I hope to get started on transforming one of our guest rooms this week. I also registered on Pottery Barn, because I couldn't resist, and Alison is going to help us register at Babies R Us on Monday after Liv's big wedding shower. I am so excited to see my whole family this week, and spend quality time getting ready for the wedding and obsessing that adorable little niece of mine!
I will put up a new belly pic as soon as Joe and I can get one taken. He has been very busy at work, which leaves very little time for pressing matters like belly pics. We did get 12 pictures of our baby Nugget on Monday, and here are a few:
This one I love! You can really see her little face. My dad is convinced she already has my nose!

Who doesn't love baby toes?

You can see her little hand up above her mouth. She just stopped sucking her thumb. Look at that belly! We may have a little Buddha baby on our hands!

Updates!

( Almost 18 weeks. The belly has grown a lot over the past couple of weeks.)

Much to the dismay of my sister Alison, and friend Kristin, I have not been able to keep up with the blog every two weeks, like I originally planned. But, I will try to do better! Last week I celebrated my golden birthday and I got my first baby gift from Joe. Which, anyone who knows Joe and I very well has probably already figured out it was something from Coach. He surprised me by finding a Coach baby bag. Its adorable. It has the posh little changing pad and all. I am excited to take Nugs out in style in just about 5 months! Mom and dad came up and we went shopping for maternity clothes for my birthday. Much to my surprise, it was quite fun. (I guess shopping is always fun). Dad and Joe sat and watched the Cards game while mom and I shopped. We started shopping in the first inning and didn't meet back up until the middle of the 8th. Oopsy! We had only gone to two stores, but clearly we were having too much fun trying on preggo clothes to realize how much time was passing. After shopping we went out Mexican (I feel it necessary to eat Mexican 1-2 times a week while pregnant)For my birthday they surprised me with my new favorite dessert, fried cheesecake! I highly recommend it!
Joe and I have been working hard on the exterior of our house. All of the dark brown trimming is now a fresh white and Joe has managed to remove three of the world's largest bushes from the front. Eventually this house will be just what we want it to be.

In just two weeks we will find out whether we have a little Mr. Nugget or Miss Nugget on the way. We can't wait to share that exciting news with everyone!

Nugget's new nickname

So, we are officially at 14 weeks, 2nd trimester WOO-HOO! We did discover that Nugget may be a little on the dramatic side just like momma. Appearently, appointments every four weeks are just not enough for our little Nugs. I woke up yesterday and spotted a bit, SCARY! But, after talking to the doctor and having an entire day and night with no recurrences, Joe and I felt good. Then, it happened again this morning. I called the office and the doctor got me right in. She has decided that when she refers to Nugget, the baby will now be called "Trouble". I still prefer Nugget, but this baby has given us more scares than average, so I understand where she is coming from. The good news is, that this has nothing to do with the baby. In fact the baby is perfectly healthy. We found out today that it is now 7.6 cm from head to rump. I love that they call it rump! The heart rate was also strong, 152. So, now we jsut have to figure out what is going on with my body that is making it react this way. Our doctor is running some labs to make sure I don't have an infection. If they can't find anything, this may just be something that Joe and I have to deal with now and then. Luckily, Joe is much calmer than I, plus I have a sister who is a new mom that I can call obsessively for reassurance and an amazing doctor who Joe and I can call anytime (not to mention all the friends we rely on day to day). So.. this long story basically breaks down to this: we got an ultrasound six weeks before our next one was scheduled! In the pictures, the baby looked down the whole time and kept those little legs curled up. Dr. Moore kept the machine on for about ten minutes though, and we got to see the legs kicking, arms moving, and Nugget turned and faced us for a second. It was amazing! Here are the pics of our perfect little baby! They are a little blurry online, but in person, you can see the brain and spine and everything. Everything does not mean that we could tell the sex, though, (although Joe tried hard!)We are so lucky that we got to see Nugs at this developmental time.

New belly pic. Not too big yet, but definately growing every day!

Our new blog!

Hello all! I decided to take a page out of my older sister's book and create a blog to share news with family and friends. As we all know, I like to talk (a lot) and this is the perfect spot to share stories with all of you at once. Of course, I had to name it after Chelsea Lately. I hope it is as entertaining as the show! I guess the big news to share with you all is that Giana is about to have a baby cousin! Joe and I are having a baby!!! We had our twelve week appointment today, and were able to hear the heartbeat for the first time. We have been lucky enough to have two ultrasounds so far, at 6 and 8 weeks, but Nugget (or Nugs as Auntie Alison likes to call the baby) is so small that it is not really recognizable as a baby. Now the body is fully developed, so our next ultrasound should be very telling!

(Nugget at 8 weeks)

Overall, its been a great twelve weeks. I have been lucky and not been too sick. Plus, a lot of snack foods make me nauseous, so I have been very healthy for the first trimester. I started to feel better this week and all I think about is food thats bad for you, so we'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks. I did find out that the half marathon that I have been training for since November is a no go, much to the delight of my dad (who was very worried about Nugget) and the run. I am still able to run, just not 13.1 miles. Maybe next year.

Auntie Alison and I went a little crazy with the clearance unisex outfits! With these and everything else Alison has gotten Nugs, I think our baby has more clothes at 3 months in utero than most babies due three months after birth!

(Me at twelve weeks)

We are so excited to share this with you all! We hope you all have a wonderful Easter!
